Coriander, turmeric rise on buying support

NEW DELHI, Oct 19:  Coriander and turmeric prices rose Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today on buying support from retailers and stockists amid low stocks.

Further, fall in supplies from producing belts and firming trend in futures market supported the upside.

Coriander and turmeric prices rose by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 8,000-13,500 and Rs 8,000-11,800 per quintal, respectively.

Traders said buying by retailers and stockists against fall in supplies from producing belts, mainly pushed up coriander and turmeric prices.

Following are today’s quotations (in Rs):

Ajwain (per kg) 170-230, black pepper (per kg) 710-840, betel-nut (kg) 245-300, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 930-950 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 990-1,210.

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 900-1,000, cardamom (colour robin) 800-810, cardamom bold 850-860, cardamom extra (bold) 900-920 and cloves 535-655. (PTI)
