Corona toll in Valley reaches 1200

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, Jan 12: One person died of COVID-19 while 113 tested positive for the virus and 198 others recovered in Jammu and Kashmir today.
A 65 year old man who died of COVID in Srinagar today. He was terminally ill but was also suffering from Corona and succumbed today.
With this death, the total fatality count reached 1200 in the Valley.
Srinagar district with 452 deaths topped the list followed by Baramulla 172, Budgam 111, Kupwara 94, Pulwama 88, Anantnag 84, Bandipora 61, Kulgam 53, Ganderbal 41 and Shopian 39.
Those who tested positive in Kashmir include 24 from Srinagar, 5 Baramulla, 2 Budgam, 5 Pulwama, 3 Kupwara, 1 Anantnag, 2 Bandipora, Ganderbal, 2 Kulgam and 2 from Shopian.
The number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 71,886 including 69,839 recoveries and 1,200 deaths.
The total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,682 including 847 from Kashmir division. With 198 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 119,170 which is 97.07 percent of the total cases.
In Jammu region, 65 persons tested positive for COVID-19, 48 of them in Jammu district alone, five in Udhampur, four Samba, two each Doda, Ramban and Reasi and one each at Kathua and Poonch. Rajouri and Kishtwar districts didn’t report any Corona cases today.
Among 98 persons, who recovered from the virus in the region, 47 hailed from Jammu district, 12 Reasi, 10 Kathua, nine Rajouri, eight Poonch, seven Udhampur and five in Doda district while Samba, Kishtwar and Ramban districts didn’t report any recoveries.
Jammu region now has 50878 Corona cases. Of them, 835 are active positives while 49331 have recovered from the virus and there have been 712 casualties in the region. The casualties include 365 in Jammu district, 64 Doda, 57 Udhampur, 55 Rajouri, 50 Kathua, 39 Samba, 24 Poonch, 22 Kishtwar, 21 Ramban and 15 in Reasi district.
In the Union Territory of Ladakh, 13 persons tested positive for COVID-19 today including 12 in Leh and one in Kargil district taking Corona count to 9634. Of them, 180 are active positives while 9326 have recovered.
