Corporal Punishment

Sir,
Refer news, ‘Teacher beats up students’ in the DE Sept. 16. Day in and day out such heart rending news items appear in the newspapers where the so called teachers, beat the students mercilessly causing fractures in their body parts that one is constrained to call such teachers worse than beasts. A teacher is there to mend the student and not to cause them any harm. The parents entrust their kids to the care of teachers and expect them to prepare their children for facing various obstacles in life and make them good citizens. But the opposite happens. Some times it is out of some personal grudge and vengeance that the teachers behave in such a way. By giving corporal punishment such teachers play with the life of children. Their personality gets spoiled. How will such teachers react if their own kids are punished like this. They will be up on the arms and go to any extent because their self gets touched.Such matters generally happen in rural areas although  there are strict laws against corporal punishment. So let the powers that be come forward and take stringent measures to punish such teachers so that such bad practice do not recur again.
Yours etc…..
