Corporator, Ex-Mayor kick start deep drains’ work

JAMMU, Jan 25: Vijay Choudhary, Corporator of Ward No. 42 and Manmohan Choudhary Ex- Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation, started the construction work of deep drains along the Gurdwara, Nanak Nagar Sector-2 in the presence of local gathering.
A large number of Sikh devotees visit thia Gurdwara every day. With the efforts of Vijay Choudhary, this work was started today with a cost of Rs 15 lakhs from UEED and JMC in presence of Tarlochan Singh Wazir, Chairman J&K Gurdwara Prabandhak Board, Sunil Thusu Joint Commissioner Works JMC, Ashwani Sharma X-En JMC, Ashok Sharma AEE JMC and other staff.
Local residents as well as the representatives of Gurdwara Committees were raising the demand for this work for a long time. The locals complained every day about the foul smell from the drain. Now a deep drain is being constructed with RCC wall. Gurdwara Committee members and the locals thanked Corporator of the area for listening their genuine demand. They also appreciated the work done by Manmohan Choudhary during his tenure for this area.
Wazir, Corporator, Ex-Mayor, Thusu also paid visit to Guru Nanak Mission Hospital. He informed them that it is a charitable hospital, where they charge no fees from the patient, infact retired senior doctors, former HoD’s provide free service here. They have nearly 200 patients in OPD on daily basis. This hospital has every facility available except a sufficient parking space which create a problem for the authorities and public.
Wazir requested the group to help their noble cause and utilize the adjoining nallah by putting a slab over it as a parking space for hospital. The JCW JMC was very impressed with the whole structure and said the idea of parking space by covering a nallah be discussed with his seniors.
Manmohan Singh from DGPC, Narinder Singh Khalsa, Navtej Singh, Manjeet Singh Rocky, Jaswant Singh, Amarpal Singh, Assa Singh, Parminder Singh, Kuldeep Singh and others were also present on the occasion.
