JAMMU, Jan 30: Vijay Choudhary, Corporator of Ward No 42, Jammu Municipal Corporation, kick started the construction work of drain in Sector 5, Nanak Nagar, in the presence of Ch Manmohan Singh, former Mayor of Jammu.
Vijay Choudhary, while speaking on the occasion, said that the construction of new lanes and drains were on the top of her agenda of maintaining a clean and hygienic ward. “Earlier, I focused on the sanitation system of the Ward, since in the absence of funds, much could not be done,” she added.
She said that the sanitation team of the Ward is understaffed, so with whatever workers they have, they are trying to do as much as can be done. On the issue of cleaning and garbage disposal in tight lanes which are inaccessible by Municipal garbage trucks, she said that an auto has been deployed in such lanes to collect garbage.
The Corporator said insufficient resources and lack of manpower are the main bottlenecks in the path of development but until these bottlenecks are not removed, she will keep asking the authorities for them.
