Srinagar, July 31: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) general secretary Ram Madhav today said that his party won’t make alliance with any party in the State in the forthcoming Assembly election and they should be held before the expiry of current term of President’s rule.
Speaking to reporters at SKICC on the sidelines of a function, Madhav said that BJP has begun preparations for the much awaited poll exercise but said the party will not make alliance with any party and will field candidates on all 87 seats of the State. He added that these elections should be hold before the expiry of current term of President’s rule.
The BJP leader said that party will field their candidates from all 87 seats in the State and at the same time “wants forces and youth to emerge as a front so that NC and PDP are wiped out from the political turf of the State.” “We want to ensure that State gets rid from the dynasty rule, sooner the better,” he said.

On BJP’s stand on scraping of Article 35A, Madhav said that Narendra Modi Government would take necessary steps for the benefit of the State at an appropriate time. “The Centre’s drive against corruption in J&K has left political parties especially National Conference and PDP in frustration as they are now creating a war hysteria in the State at a time when elections are going to be held later this year”, he said.
The BJP leader said that party’s stand on it (repeal of Article 35A of the Constitution) is very clear but it is not the party which is going to decide. The decision will be taken by the Prime Minister and his Government, but I can assure you that whatever decision they will take, will be in the interest of the State.
Madhav said the State’s political parties were creating an atmosphere of fear in Kashmir by linking the movement of Central Armed Paramilitary Forces with other issues to save their political turf.
“Leaders of local regional parties are creating fear psychosis for their political interests. Moving forces in and out of Kashmir as per the requirement of the Security Grid is an ongoing process. Extra forces are brought in for Amarnath Yatra or elections like there is going to be block-level elections for Panchayat. But linking the movement of forces with other issues is being done for personal interests,” he said.
The BJP leader said that the counter insurgency operations were successful as the militancy has been contained to a large extent and peaceful atmosphere is prevailing in the State.
He said like militancy, corruption was also a huge issue in the State of Jammu and Kashmir and demanded that Government must uproot the menace. “Corruption has been a major issue here which has been hampering the development. Thousand of crores have been coming from New Delhi for development but that never reached to the grass root”, he said.
Madhav said that now the time has come when the corruption also would be uprooted and said BJP demands an all-out effort to weed out corruption from administration.
The BJP leader without naming the National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah said: “One is being questioned in Chandigarh today. If some other is questioned in Srinagar tomorrow, what is the problem? No matter how big you are, the corrupt won’t be spared”, he said.
He also indirectly took on PDP president Mehbooba Mufti without naming her and said: “Gone were the days when politicians would intimidate with bomb threats. We are not going to get intimidated by this.”
Madhav also said that militancy would be uprooted completely and said not only killing the militants but all those who provide support and the institutions would be brought to book.”You have seen from last one year the efforts of GoI. Only neutralizing militants is not enough, but action under law has been taken against those Over Ground Workers and the institutions who have been supporting them like Hurriyat and Jamat-e-Islami. The process of taking action against the businessmen, political people who have been indirectly helping them is also on”, he said.
