LEH, Feb 6: Councillor of Cha, Stanzin Lakpa today called on the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retired) at Raj Niwas.
Seeking the LG’s intervention in resuming helicopter service between Leh and Padum, Lakpa apprised the LG of its importance for better accessibility during the winter months. He also informed that the helicopter service would facilitate the transportation of tourists and participants for the upcoming Zanskar Winter Sports Festival.
Lakpa also highlighted the importance of the announcement of district status for Zanskar at the earliest for the benefit of the people of Zanskar.
The LG asked Secretary Aviation to look into the matter of the resumption of helicopter service to Zanskar and take necessary steps in this regard.
