JAMMU, June 24: Councillor Amit Gupta along with Bus Stand Shopkeeper Association president, Ramesh Tak and residents of Chopra Ahatta, staged protest against JMC Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta and JMC officials for ignoring the concerned Councillor while reviewing the ongoing construction works on Nallah at Chopra Ahatta, falling in Ward No. 19.
While addressing the media persons here, Gupta said that it was totally injustice with the concerned Councillor at the end of JMC Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta and Officials of JMC who have suddenly visited the Chopra Ahatta of Ward No. 19 where ongoing work of construction of Nallah is being done.
“JMC Mayor along with officials suddenly visit in my area is just to ignore the problems and demands being faced by the residents of the Ahatta that too without my knowledge which has compelled me to force staging protest against them for violating norms of the Municipal Act,” Councillor alleged.
Ramesh Tak said that there was resentment among the residents of the Chopra Ahatta against the JMC Mayor, that’s why he (Mayor) has not informed the Councillor concerned.
