Councillors express resentment against Property Tax

JAMMU, Mar 4: The Independent Councillors of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) here today expressed resentment against levying of Property Tax in J&K.
In a press conference Sham Lal, Independent Councillor of JMC said that it is not the proper time for Property Tax as the people of J&K are just coming out of the threat of Corona pandemic suffering heavy losses.

He also said that the JMC has utterly failed to increase the number of Safai Karamcharis as only a few of these personnel are maintaining the cleanliness of entire Jammu city which has now expanded to 75 Wards.
Lal said that Safai Karamcharis working with JMC have even no modern tools for doing work.
He further said that presently no proper sanitization is being done in Jammu city by the JMC despite the prevailing threat of COVID pandemic.
The Independent Councilors also flayed the move of JMC authorities for not allowing media personnel to cover the proceedings of general house meeting of JMC which is going to assemble on March 6.
Councilors S. Sucha Singh, Ashok Singh Manhas and Amit Sharma were also present in the press conference.
