POONCH, June 26: Three persons including a couple were killed and three others sustained injuries when a vehicle, they were traveling in, skidded off the road and rolled down into gorge at Draba early this morning.
The ill-fated Tata Mobile vehicle bearing registration number JK11-6136 was on its way from Darhal to Pasana when it met with accident reportedly due to the negligence of the driver.
On getting information about the accident, a police party rushed to the spot and started rescue operation. After hectic efforts, all the occupants of the ill-fated vehicle were brought out of the gorge and rushed to District Hospital where three of them were pronounced as brought dead.
The condition of injured including an infant was stated to be stable when reports last came in.
The deceased have been identified as Sahib Din, son of Ghulam Mohd, his wife Wazira Begum and driver of the vehicle Mohd Shafi, son of Faqar Din, all the residents of Darhal.
The injured have been identified as Shazia Akhter, daughter of Sahib Din, Shahida, wife of Mohd Kabir and Iram Akhter, daughter of Mohd Kabir.
