SRINAGAR, Mar 7: In a tragic incident fire incident, a couple and their daughter died in Khanyar area of downtown Srinagar during an intervening night of Friday-Saturday
The incident occurred at Sheeshgari Mohalla in a residential house which belonged to Javid Ahmad Hakak son of Ali Mohammad Hakak. In the fire incident, the house was reduced to ashes.

The officials said that in the incident, three members of a family including father, mother and their daughter died on the spot and their bodies charred.
The deceased were identified as Javaid Ahmad Hakak, 40, his wife Sofiya Javaid, 28, and their daughter Hafsa, 4. The deceased couple is now survived by one daughter.
The police said that the apparent cause of fire was short circuit, but the actual cause will come to the fore after the investigation is completed.
After the incident, the police have registered a case under relevant Sections and investigation was set in motion.
Meanwhile, the district administration Srinagar has announced a payment of Rs 15 lakh as compensation in favour of next of kin of Khanyar fire victims; Soheda Javid, 8 – daughter of the deceased couple.
