JAMMU, Mar 25: A couple was detained from RS Pura area here for having links with “Waris Punjab De” head and Khalistani preacher Amritpal Singh’s mentor Papalpreet Singh.

DySP Headquarters, Dr Sunniya Askhoor Wani told the Excelsior that Amrik Singh and his wife Sarabjeet Kour were detained from Kullian area of RS Pura Tehsil and later handed over to the Punjab Police for further investigation.
“The detained couple were reportedly in contact with Papalpreet Singh,” the police officer said.
Pertinently, Papalpreet Singh is the mentor of Amritpal Singh, who reportedly helped the latter escape from the police dragnet.
“He (Papalpreet Singh) was constantly in touch with Pakistani agency ISI,” reports said.
SHO Miran Sahib, Zaheer Mushtaq said the raids to arrest the couple, Amrik Singh and Sarabjeet Kour, who are actual residents of RS Pura, but were living in a rented property in Kullian, started last night.
“Today, the teams of Jammu and Kashmir Police and SOG led by SP Headquarters Ramnish Gupta arrested the couple on specific information and later handed them over to Punjab Police,” he said.
During the raids, police have also seized the mobile phones of detained couple.
