Course on ‘Investigation of Cyber Crime’ concludes at SKPA

UDHAMPUR, Sept 15: Five days course on “Investigation of Cyber Crime” in S K Police Academy Udhampur, culminated today.
The course was attended by 17 officers of J&K Police. The course was designed to meet the basic objectives of Cyber Crime like Introduction to Computers, Memory & Storage devices, Networking/Internet Concepts, Introduction to Cyber Crime & Cyber Frauds – Hacking, Phishing, Email Bombing, Hijacking, Web Defacement, Fake Profile, Salami Attacks, Pornography, URL Spoofing, Identity Theft, Cyber Stalking, Cyber Bullying, Cyber Crime – An Overview, History and evaluation, Types and forms of Cyber Crime, Role of Information Technology in Cyber Crime detection, Latest trends in Cyber Crime, Bank frauds, Email frauds, Use of Cyber technology by criminals to commit crimes like Identity theft, Spying, Mobile forensic, collection and prevention of electronic data, SOPs to seize computer/mobile etc.
Eminent guest faculty from different Academia as well as J&K Police were invited to delivered lectures in the context of the course.
On the occasion of valediction function in the Academy, SSP Sheikh Zulfkar Azad, Dy Director (Admn) SKPA Udhampur, was the chief guest. He laid stress on the participating officers to keep updating with the modern techniques of handling Cybercrimes, so that being first responders they should know what is to be done when a Cybercrime reported.
The valediction function was also attended by Dy SP Ashish Gupta, Asstt Director (Trg /R&D); Dy SP Sukhvir Singh, Asstt. Director (Outdoor) and other officers of the Academy. The course was coordinated by Rohit Gupta, Inspector assisted by HC Randip Singh.
