Course on responsibility towards general public begins at SKPA

UDHAMPUR, Dec 14: A 3-day course on “Developing Effective Communication, Skills, Behaviour, Attitude, and Responsibility towards the General Public” commenced at the Sher-e-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA), here today.
Fourteen officers from the Jammu and Kashmir Police are actively participating in this comprehensive training program. The course aims to address key objectives, including the framework of emotional intelligence, self-awareness, emotional self-control, and expression.
Focusing on the relevance of soft skills and emotional intelligence in the context of policing, the program covers stress and time management for self-leadership within the police organization. Additionally, it delves into aspects such as behaviour and attitude in managing change, self-improvement, effective communication, and enhancing organizational productivity within the police force.
Eminent guest faculty members from various academic institutions have been invited to ensure the program’s success and achievement of its intended goals.
An inaugural function was held to mark the commencement of the course with SSP Rajinder Kumar Gupta, Dy Director (Indoor), as the chief guest. Gupta warmly welcomed all course participants on behalf of the Director of SKPA Udhampur, emphasizing the imperative need for police personnel to adapt their behaviour and attitude towards the general public. He highlighted the crucial role of communication skills in conveying thoughts, ideas, and effectively managing conflict situations.
The coordination of the course is overseen by Sukhvir Singh, Dy SP, AD (Admn), with assistance from SI Irshad Ahmed, a faculty member.
