Course on ‘use of space application in policing’ begins at SKPA Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, Nov 14: A five-day course on the “Use of Space Applications in Policing, Including Drone Technology, Interaction, and Investigation” commenced at the Sher-e-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA) here today.
A statement said that twenty officers from various police units are participating in the training course to acquire knowledge and skills for leveraging space applications in policing strategies.
The program emphasizes the significant role of drone technology, showcasing operations for surveillance, reconnaissance and technical response.
In his inaugural address, SSP Rajinder Kumar Gupta, Deputy Director (indoor) at SKPA, highlighted that space applications in policing provide unprecedented surveillance and communication capabilities through access to satellite imagery and remote sensing technologies, enabling informed decision-making and effective response coordination.
He emphasized that integrating drone technology into policing will revolutionize search and rescue operations, as well as monitoring large crowds and events.
The course, coordinated by Rakesh Singh Sambyal, CPO, with assistance from ASI Ashok Kumar, aims to equip law enforcement professionals with the expertise needed for modern policing challenges.
