Court cancels bail of ex-Minister in terror funding case

JAMMU, Oct 9: Special Judge NIA Jammu Madan Lal today cancelled the bail of ex-Minister Jatinder Singh alias Babu Singh in terror funding case.
The order has been passed in an application filed by SSP SIA seeking cancellation of bail of accused Jatinder Singh on the grounds that vide order dated 7.06.2024, the non-applicant was granted temporary bail subject to various conditions that he shall not change his residence during the period of temporary bail; not go beyond the limits of district Kathua and that he shall wear GPS tracking devices to be provided by the SSP SIA Jammu and adhere to all the conditions imperative for its effective use.
The interim bail granted to the accused vide order dated 07- 06-2024 was made absolute on 25-06-2024 subject to the conditions already imposed on him. On 10-08-2024, a report was furnished by the GPS Monitoring Unit that the accused/non-applicant, who was fitted with GPS tracker on his leg as per the direction of court, has crossed geo fence and moved towards Chandigarh without informing the Monitoring Unit regarding the permission obtained from the trial court for crossing J&K.
“The movement of non-applicant/accused beyond the limits of district Kathua is without any permission of the trial court and the same constitutes violation of the conditions”, the SSP SIA submitted.
After hearing both the sides, Special Judge NIA cancelled the interim bail granted to the non-applicant vide order dated 07-06-2024 and made absolute on 25-06-2024. The non- applicant present in the court was ordered to be taken into custody and sent to District Jail.
