Court declines pre-arrest bail to Hyderabad based firm MD

JAMMU, May 14: Principal Sessions Judge, Jammu, Jang Bhadur Singh Jamwal, today declined pre-arrest bail to GSP Veera Reddy, Managing Director of M/s GVPR Engineers Limited, Hyderabad and others, who have cheated Thakur Ashwani Singh, partner of Cube Construction Engineers of more than Rs 8 crore.
After hearing Advocate Anil Bargotra appearing for the petitioners whereas Public Prosecutor for the State, Principal Sessions Judge observed, “the petitioners are still at large and the investigation is at the infancy stage. In case such kind of people are shown leniency, the other likewise criminals will be encouraged”, adding “I am satisfied that in case the petitioners are admitted to bail in anticipation their arrest, there is no possibility of recovering the alleged amount”.
“The offence is against the society and in case the petitioners are admitted to bail in anticipation of their arrest, there is every likelihood that they will not attend the investigation and possibility of their interfering and tampering with the evidence cannot be ruled out”, the Court further observed, adding “the contents of the FIR have emanated a prima facie case against the petitioners”.
With these observations, the Court declined pre-arrest bail to the petitioners.
