JAMMU, May 27: Principal Sessions Judge Jammu Sanjay Gupta today rejected bail application of Vikas Raina, Gagandeep Heer and Parvinder Heer, who had murdered Army jawan Rocky Raina on January 23, 2011 at Khawara in Jammu district.
After hearing both the sides, court observed, “the allegations against the accused are very serious. The punishment for offense under Section 302 RPC is death or life imprisonment”.
“Life imprisonment is rule and sentence of death an exception and trial is at midway stage and in case bail is granted at this stage, there is likelihood that accused may abscond and threat left over prosecution witnesses”, the court said.
With these observations, court rejected the bail application.
