Court denies bail to alleged anti-national element

JAMMU, Oct 18: Principal Sessions Judge Kishtwar, Bala Joyti today rejected the bail application of Mudassar Nazar, son of Aziz Mohd of Bagwan Mohalla, Kishtwar, who was arrested by the police for allegedly trying to disturb peace and tranquility by raising antinational slogans on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
After hearing Advocate MH Waza for the applicant whereas Public Prosecutor for the State, Principal Sessions Judge observed, “raising antinational slogan is sure to pollute the serene atmosphere of any place and this is a known fact that Kishtwar is a very sensitive township as it has seen many events of this nature when public tranquility was imperiled at the hands of antinational element”.
“Bruises caused by such events/elements during last Eid celebration have not healed as yet and any such attempt by any person is sure to cause ripples in the process of restoring peace in this sensitive district”, the court said, adding “crime in such cases is not against any individual but against whole society”.
With these observations, court rejected the bail application of Mudassar Nazar. In case of Saqib Majeed, whose age is stated to be 16 years, the court directed for his release from the custody on furnishing bail and personal bonds of Rs 20000 each.
