Srinagar, Dec 8:  A local court in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district today denied bail to a pharmacist accused of being behind burning a Government school.
Principal Sessions Judge Ganderbal rejected bail plea of Yasir Ahmad Makhdoomi alias doctor of Dudharhama Ganderbal who has been booked under FIR number 212/2016 under sections 436, 120-B RPC by police for his alleged involvement in the torching of Government Middle School Dudharhama last month.
The Court while denying the bail to the accused said: “The bail to the accused cannot be granted in the larger interest of the society so that a strong message goes in the society and the like minded person would not think of committing such grave offence”.
The Court observed that only a person who does not have faith in institutions would be so rude to instigate children and provide them burning materials to set the schools on fire.
Pertinently, the accused was arrested on the instance of some children questioned by police and it had come to fore that he had instigated children and handed over a bottle of petrol to make petrol bomb which was then hurled on the Government Middle School Dudharhama. The accused had also instigated children to hurl petrol bomb on a vendor for defying shutdown last month, the prosecution said.
