JAMMU, Feb 15: Crime Branch Jammu contested the bail application of an accused and got it rejected.
As per official spokesman, Crime Branch Jammu vigorously contested bail application of accused Pawan Kumar, son of Surinder Kumar of Bhagwati Nagar, Talab Tillo, Jammu in a case registered under FIR Number 11/2019 under Sections 420, 465, 468, 471 and 120B RPC with Police Station Crime Branch Jammu before the Court of JMIC (Munsiff) Jammu for duping the complainant/unemployed youth fraudulently to the tune of Rs 12 lakh after inducing and luring them on the pretext of providing Government jobs in MES Headquarters Srinagar.
The UT of J&K was represented by Crime Branch Jammu through Learned Assistant Public Prosecutor Siddharth Thakur, assisted by IO of the case, who resisted the bail application and filed objections to it on the ground that the accused has committed heinous/serious crime which is non-bailable in nature, the spokesman said.
“While rejecting the bail, the Court among other factors observed that granting bail in a non-bailable offence is a concession allowed to an accused person and it presupposes that this privilege is not abused”, he added.
