JAMMU, Oct 17: 1st Additional Sessions Judge Jammu M A Chowdhary today rejected the bail application of Gautam Kumar, who was arrested by Narwal Police with 2 kilograms of ganja.
After hearing APP Ajay Singh Manhas for the State, the court observed, “the interstate drug rackets are targeting school kids. The illicit drugs have a high addiction potential and there is gradual increase in their intake getting the users dependent on these drugs both physically and psychologically”.
“The compulsive drug seeking and use, on addiction, causes chronic disease changing the brain, its structure and how it works. The deadly menace, a major problem of the society, requires to be checked through strengthening the reinforcement”, the court further said.
With these observations, court rejected the bail application.
