JAMMU, Sept 16: 1st Additional Sessions Judge Jammu, Bala Joyti today rejected the bail application of Mohammad Irfan, son of Noor Mohammad alias Sufi Aladin Ajmer Wale Baba, a resident of Uttar Pradesh and his associate Mohammad Shamim, resident of New Delhi, who were arrested by the Bus-Stand Police for duping the innocent people.
The accused, as per police, had been cheating public on the pretext of curing all types of problems including love affair, matrimonial disputes etc through magic power. They were booked under Section 420 and Section 295-A RPC.
After hearing Advocate KB Gupta appearing for the petitioner whereas APP Ajay Singh Manhas appearing for the State, court observed, “the investigation is still in infancy stage and releasing the accused on bail at this stage is sure to prejudice fair investigation and possibility of accused being not available during trial is also imminent as the accused are outsiders”.
“The offences against them are against public policy and against public interest”, the court further said while rejecting the bail application.
