Court denies pre-arrest bail to husband in dowry case

JAMMU, Aug 25: Principal Sessions Judge Jammu, R S Jain today rejected the pre-arrest bail application of one Sudershan Sharma, who was booked for torturing his wife for dowry.
According to the police case, Dr Ritu Sharma filed a complaint in the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jammu, who forwarded the same to Police Station Domana. In the complaint, it was mentioned that Dr Ritu Sharma was being tortured by her husband Sudershan for want of dowry.
After hearing Advocate Vikrant Singh for the accused whereas Advocate Vishal Kapur for the complainant and Public Prosecutor for the State, Principal Sessions Judge Jammu, R S Jain observed, “the accused is misusing the concession of interim bail and neither co-operating with the police nor joining the investigation”.
With these observations, court rejected the bail application.
