SRINAGAR, June 3: High Court today directed the State Government to facilitate proposed visit of the Kashmir Bar Association team to different jails across the country and also direct their superintendents to allow the lawyers to meet the detainees as per jail manuals and rules.
Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir while hearing a petition submitted by the High Court Bar Association in which the petitioners had sought that the lawyers be allowed to visit Tihar and Rohini jails to meet prisoners of Jammu and Kashmir lodged in these jails.
Senior Advocate Zaffar Ahmad Qureshi appeared on behalf of the Bar association while advocate R. A. Khan and S. A. Makroo represented the State Government.
