Court directs police to register FIR in woman abduction case

JAMMU, Apr 2: Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) has directed the Police Department to lodge FIR in the abduction case of a married woman from the jurisdiction of Bahu Fort police station.
According to the case, a petition was filed in the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) under Section 156 (3) of the CrPC for lodging of FIR in respect of abduction of Karuna Sharma, wife of Rishi Sharma of Sanjay Nagar Bahu, by Sagar Khokhar, son of Bagga, resident of Pounichak, Talab Tillo.
According to the petition, the marriage between the applicant Rishi Sharma and Karuna Sharma was solemnized in the year 2007 and out of the wedlock two children namely Pranjal Sharma and Ankanksha Sharma were born who are 6 and 3 years age respectively.
For the last over one year, Karuna Sharma has been in touch with Sagar Khokhar and she has been frequently visiting him.
For the past one month, Karuna Sharma was living at her parental house at Bahu-Fort and on March 26, 2014 Sagar Khokhar abducted her in the vehicle bearing registration number JKO2BC-6168 belonging to the applicant. Since then the whereabouts of both are not available.
No step has been taken by the police authorities of police station Bahu Fort in registering the case, which compelled the applicant to knock the doors of the Court for justice.
The Court of CJM directed SHO police station Bahu Fort to register FIR and investigate the matter.
