Court directs SSP Kathua to register murder case

JAMMU, June 1: Chief Judicial Magistrate Kathua Amarjeet Singh today directed SSP Kathua to register FIR under relevant provisions of law for homicidal death and ensure that prompt investigation is carried out by a competent officer not below the rank of Inspector consistent with law on the subject.
The direction was passed in a complainant filed by Munshi Ram, father of Pawan Kumar, who was alleged murdered on January 12, 2017. The complainant has alleged that police has failed to register FIR and investigate the matter because of being hand in gloves with the accused persons.
After going through the contents of complaint, the report submitted by Senior Superintendent of Police Kathua, photographs of deceased which are on the record of inquest proceedings, the expert opinion given by Forensic Science Laboratory and the opinion of Medical Officer, CJM directed  Senior Superintendent of Police  Kathua to get FIR in the case at Basohli Police Station under relevant provisions of law for homicidal death and ensure that prompt, active and expeditious investigation is carried out by a competent officer not below the rank of Inspector of police.
