Court dismisses plea against recording of statement

JAMMU, July 9: In the much publicized Chopra family murder case, Principal Sessions Judge Jammu, Jang Bhadur Singh Jamwal today dismissed an application of Rajinder Singh seeking deferment of recording of statement of the witness in view of the pendence of proceedings under Section 561-A CrPC before the High Court.
After hearing both the sides, Principal Sessions Judge observed, “though the copies of pendency of the proceedings under Section 561-A CrPC before the High Court have been furnished yet there is no such order restraining the proceedings of this Court”.
Accordingly the application of accused Rajinder Singh was dismissed and the statement of Vicky (Approver) was deferred.
