Court dismisses stay on Shabir Khan’s proceedings

Srinagar, May 23:  Chief Judicial Magistrate, Srinagar today dismissed the stay application sought by a female doctor who was allegedly molested by the former Congress Minister Shabir Ahmad Khan.
The court of CJM, Srinagar, V S Bhou dismissed the stay application on the proceedings of the case in court.
The counsel for the victim submitted since the Supreme Court is currently hearing the case, the stay may be accepted on the proceedings in the court.
Shabir Khan is accused of molesting the lady doctor in his office in February this year, and following public outrage against Khan police booked him under Sec 354 RPC (assault or criminal force on a woman with the intention to outrage her woman) and Section 509 RPC (word, gesture or act intended to outrage the modesty of a woman).
Khan also resigned as Minister of Health from the Council of Ministers.
