Srinagar, Mar 1: Jammu and Kashmir High Court today directed the Health Department to comply with the court orders and appoint the Director Health Services Kashmir.
Implement the order of this court first then the application for extension of time will be taken up.
A Division Bench of Jammu and Kashmir High Court comprising Chief Justice M M Kumar and Justice Hasnain Masoodi, while hearing an appeal (LPA) filed by Dr Mohammad Ashraf Bhat ordered that “prayer for extension of time cannot be considered. Let the order be first complied with then the application for extension of time will be taken up.”
The bench expected that the Health Department and Public Service Commission will implement the court direction. “We expect that the needful would be done without requiring use to initiate contempt proceedings” reads the order.
The bench had in its earlier order directed the State to appoint the Director Health Services Kashmir in three months strictly in accordance with Jammu and Kashmir Health and Family Welfare Service Recruitment Rules 2006.
Last year in August Court had directed the Government to make regular promotion for the post of CMOs, MOs and senior consultants within 2 weeks but the Government failed to do comply with the court orders.
