Court frames charges against Account Assistant in trap case

JAMMU, Jan 1: Special Judge Anti-Corruption Srinagar Surinder Singh has framed charges against Syed Mujeeb Andrabi, Account Assistant (Auditor) in a trap case.
According to the ACB, accused during his posting as Accounts Assistant (Auditor) in Sadder Treasury Srinagar demanded and accepted bribe of Rs 1500 from the complainant namely Mohammad Waseem Khan, son of Nazir Ahmed Khan of Nowhatta Srinagar.
The Deputy Director Tourism M&W submitted a bill for release of payment in favour of contractor/complainant for an amount of Rs 256000 but the accused demanded and accepted the bribe money of Rs 1500 from complainant thus misused his official position and violated the basic norm of public servant duty.
After hearing both the sides, the court observed, “prima facie the accused has found committed the commission of offence under Prevention of Corruption Act”.
