Court frames corruption charges against Chief Manager SFC, others

JAMMU, Oct 24: Additional Sessions Judge Anticorruption Jammu, Sanjay Parihar today framed corruption charges against Subash Chander Chopra, the then Chief Manager State Financial Corporation, Rajinder Parsad, the then Manager Transport Section, Sudershan Kumar Bali, the then Assistant Manager Transport Section, Mool Raj, the then Senior Assistant SFC and Rajinder & Tarseem Lal under Prevention of Corruption Act and different sections of RPC.
According to Crime Branch case, one Mangat Ram, son of Chajju Ram of Chumbian lodged a written report mentioning that he purchased a carrier bus bearing Registration No.JKQ/5349 in partnership with one Kaka Ram. Since, the business did not turn out to be profitable he sold the bus to a party hailing from UP and the route permit of the vehicle was deposited with RTO Jammu.
In the year 1991, accused Rajinder Kumar approached him along with one Jay Singh for the purchase of route permit. Accordingly, the deal was struck and he was made to sign various forms and documents brought to him by the accused. But after a gap of few years, he received a letter from J&K State Financial Corporation whereby he was asked to pay an amount of Rs 15,49,495 on account of liquidation of a loan for alleged acquisition of vehicle No JK02B/2174 registered on his name which he had never purchased or owned.
Upon this, a case was registered and after collecting necessary evidence the case was finally challaned in the court of law against the accused persons.
