Court grants 10-day remand to 2 Profs in bribery case

Srinagar Feb 15: The Special Court today granted 10 days custody of Principal Govt Degree College Pattan to Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in a corruption case.
Professor Tariq Ashai, who is the Principal of GDC Pattan, was arrested red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rupees 60000 at SP College in Srinagar yesterday.
On receipt of the complaint, a FIR was registered, under Section 7 Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 in Police Station ACB north Kashmir and investigation was taken up.
During investigation, another Assistant professor (History) of the Degree College Pattan was also arrested in this case and is identified as Professor Imtiyaz Gul Khan, a resident of Wanigam Pattan.
Both the Professors were today produced before Special Judge Anti-Corruption Baramulla and were sent on Police remand for further investigation.
