Court grants 10 days police remand of four in SI paper Leakage scam

JAMMU, Nov 7: CJM Jammu Amarjeet Singh Langeh today granted 10 days police remand of four accused involved in J&K Sub Inspector paper leakage scam.
The four accused namely Surender Singh of Haryana, Ashok Kumar of Pallanwala (Jammu), Bajinder Singh of Karnal (Haryana) and Pradeep Kumar of New Delhi were arrested by the CBI in much publicized paper leakage scam.
The CJM after perusal of CA file observed that the accused persons seem to have been arrested on 06-11-2022 in FIR in question. “Investigation is at the initial stage so far as it pertains to the accused. In order to pin-down the role of accused in the FIR in question, prayer of investigating agency to seek police remand in respect of accused, on facts and for reasons outlined in application, therefore seems to be validly tenable and is therefore granted. Accused is thus remanded to police custody for a period of ten (10) days from today till 16-11-2022,” the CJM said in its order.
Accordingly, the accused was produced in custody by Investigating Officer, Deputy SP Prashant Sharma of CBI, ACB Jammu and party in connection with aforesaid FIR for offences under Section 120-B read with Section 420 of IPC along with Case Diary with a prayer for grant of fifteen (15) days of police remand in respect of accused.
