Court grants interim bail to Ex-Chairman BOSE in ETT scam

JAMMU, Feb 11: Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu, Tahir Khurshid Raina granted interim bail to Mohd Abdullah Charoo, then Chairman J&K Board of School Education (JKBOSE) in ETT scam.
After hearing Advocates Siddhant Gupta & Abid Chowdhary for the applicant, Special Judge Anticorruption observed that as per the mandate of the Supreme Court of India, the arrest should be the last option and it should be restricted to those exceptional cases, where arresting the accused is quite imperative in the facts and circumstances of the case.
On the other hand, he added, the counsel for the applicant has very fairly and candidly stated before the court that the applicant is fully ready to participate in and cooperate with the investigation.
With these observations, Court granted interim bail till next date of hearing and subject to furnishing personal and surety bonds of Rs 50,000/- each with certain conditions.
According to the Crime Branch report, that the applicant in the capacity of the then Chairman, J&K BOSE, in the year 2002-03, connived with the promoters of the ETT Schools and approved illegal permissions in their favour.
