SRINAGAR, Oct 22:  High Court today issued bail-able warrants against Chief Engineer, Superintending Engineer, Executive Engineer and Law Officer of Public Works Department of Qazigund (Kulgam) division with surety bond of Rs. 10, 000 each for failing to file their reply to a contempt petition filed by a daily wage worker of the department.
Justice Ali Mohammad Magray after hearing the arguments in a writ petition directed that bailable warrants along with the surety bond of Rs 10,000 each be sent for execution to the concerned SSP and if the SSP failed to execute the order, he will have to remain present before the court.
The court had directed the PWD officials in the year 2011 to pay due salary including arrears thereof strictly in accordance with rules within a period of six weeks to the petitioner Mohammad Altaf Dar, a daily wager, after his salary was not paid from April 2003.
However, the PWD officials didn’t comply with the court order compelling him to file a writ petition against them.
Justice Magray said despite the last opportunity of four weeks provided to the respondents they have not filed the reply and didn’t appear before the court.
“All the respondents are directed to remain present on next hearing,” the court said.
