JAMMU, Sept 15: Special Court under NDPS Act/1st Additional Sessions Judge Jammu M A Chowdhary today rejected the bail application of one Mohd Taj, son of Mohd Sadiq of Mendhar, who was caught by the Pacca Danga Police with heroin last month.
After hearing Advocate Rakesh Sharma appearing for the accused whereas APP Ajay Singh Jamwal appearing for the State, the court observed, “cases against drug peddlers indicate interstate drug rackets are targeting school kids as well”, adding “the illicit drugs have a high addiction potential and there is gradual increase in their intake, getting the users dependent on these drugs both physically and psychologically”.
“The deadly menace, a major problem of the society, requires to be checked through strengthening the reinforcement”, the court said while rejecting the bail application.
