JAMMU, May 1: Principal Sessions Judge Kathua M K Hanjura today rejected the bail application of Yash Pal Singh and Hazir Singh, Sarpanch and Panch, who allegedly engaged a JCB for the construction of lane and uprooted seven graves of fore-fathers of a particular community.
After hearing Advocates T N Gupta and YC Katoch appearing for the petitioners whereas Ravi Kumar Gupta Public Prosecutor appearing for the State, Principal Sessions Judge observed, “the accused have dug the graves open in the burial ground. The offence appears to be grave, heinous and inhuman on the face of it”, adding “the cause of justice will be served and not thwarted or defeated in case the prayer of the petitioners for the grant of bail is declined at this stage when the investigation of the case has not been concluded”.
With these observations, Court rejected both the bail applications.
