Court rejects bail to rape accused

Jammu, Jan 31: Presiding Officer YP Kotwal of Fast Track Court rejected the bail application of one Varinder Kumar who was allegedly involved in rape with a divorcee.
According to police case that after separation from her husband, prosecutrix was living at her parental house for the last two years, accused Varinder Singh was familiar to her as he used to come to her parental house and propose her for marriage and on May 12, 2014 accused had promised her to solemnize marriage at Chandigrah and on asking the accused, she had come out of her house at 3:00 pm and came to Jammu where accused told prosecutrix to have physical relations with him, however, she refused for the same told him that the physical relation will only be made after the marriage  and on her refusal accused got enraged, threatened her with knife and forcibly committed rape on her. On this police registered a FIR u/s 376/506/109 RPC and after completion of the investigation challan was presented.
Presiding Officer YP Kotwal of Fast Track Court after hearing Advocate Waris Gill for the accused whereas APP GS Charak appearing for the State observed that charge for the commission of offence of kidnapping and rape has been framed against the accused and the said charge has not be altered no the same can be altered at this stage and the nature of offence with which the accused has been charged is very heinous in nature and his release at this stage will cause deleterious effect on the minds of the society.
