Srinagar, Feb 19: A local court here today sentenced to 15 days custody to the five suspended employees of the Sericulture Department for wrongfully restraining the official of the department.
The court of Judge Small Causes Srinagar awarded the punishment of 15 days sentence to the five suspended employees for Commission of offence under section 339 of IPC (Wrongful restraint) and Rs 300 fine on each accused.
Court said in case they fail to pay the fine then in such eventuality they shall further undergo 15 days more in custody.
The factual matrix of the case is that the prosecution received a complaint from the department complaining therein that 9 accused employees stopped the way of higher official of the department pressing for revocation of their suspension order.
After the complainant was received in Police Station Shergari, the investigation was set into motion and the case was made out the accused and subsequently the challan was presented before the court for judicial determination.
