KATHUA, July 26: The No Confidence Motion of Municipal Council, Kathua against the president Naresh Sharma and vice president, Rekha Kumari on which voting was to be held today took a dramatic turn when a copy of court stay was put on the table of Chief Executive Officer, Municipal Council Kathua at 10 AM before two hours of voting time by the president and vice president.

Twelve Councilors including three BJP Councilor moved No Confidence Motion against present president and vice president on July 12 before the Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, Rahul Yadav and CEO Municipal Council Kathua.
Today at 12 Noon was fixed for floor test and district administration has made all arrangements to arrange the floor test. But the present President and vice president put on table copy of court stay order before the exercise to begin. The J&K Special Tribunal Jammu has directed to maintain status quo till the next date of hearing on August 4, this year.
On the other side the opponent councilors including Anurudh Sharma, Ravinder Pathania, Joginder kumar, Bupinder Raj, and Rajinder Singh Buby, Meera Kumari, Karan Kumar, Ajay Kumar, Renu Bala , Pushpa Devi,  Independent Councilors reached at CEO office and were surprised to know about the court stay issued on July 23 and they had no intimation of the same. They raised strong protest and  shouted slogans against CEO of Muncipal Council Kathua and alleged that he was misleading the administration and councilors.
The irate councilors accused the CEO of playing the game and supporting present chairperson. They alleged that the CEO also violated all rules and regulations and issued the special meeting notice very late and gave free time of ten days instead of seven days to call the special meeting of Council to move No Confidence Motion.
