Court warrant against cops

Srinagar, May 5: Chief Judicial Magistrate, Anantnag today issued non-bailable warrants against SHO Anantnag for allegedly thrashing a Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) last year at Khanabal.
In his complaint before the Court, MLA Abdul Rasheed Sheikh pleaded before the court that neither has department taken any action against the accused police officers nor is police allowing his free movement in the State.
Rasheed argued that despite being a public representative he is being deprived of his rights and thrashed by police and asked how can he plead for the rights of a common man.
The accused police officers , SHO Ayaz Geelani and Sub-Inspector Gowahar Malla were not present in the court and a non-bailable warrants to be executed by SSP Anantnag was issued against them.
