COVID-19: Kargil admn gives relaxation to power consumers

Meeting convened with religious heads

KARGIL, Mar 18: In view of the prevailing situation due to COVID-19, the Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil through a public notice has informed the general public that they may not rush in J&K Bank branches for depositing electricity bills.
The public notice states that the Executive Engineer, Electric M&RE Division Kargil should not disconnect the power supply of any household for not depositing electricity bill on due date.
The bills may be submitted as and when the situation gets normal in the district.
Meanwhile, in view of the prevailing situation due to COVID-19 and the imposition of Section 144 Cr. PC by the District Magistrate Kargil restricting the gathering/assembly of more than 5 people to contain the spread of Coronavirus in the interest of the health of general public, Sub Divisional Magistrate Drass Asgar Ali convened a meeting of religious heads today.
During the course of the meeting, the SDM while highlighting the precautionary measures of COVID-19 appealed all the religious heads to avoid religious gatherings in their respective mosques and other religious places till the revocation of Section 144 Cr. PC.
The religious heads assured the SDM to extend their full cooperation to the Administration in view of the prevailing situation. They also assured that they will aware the people to abstain from such gatherings by making public announcements from their respective mosques.
