The much touted China Pakistan Economic corridor (CPEC), one of prestigious projects launched jointly by China and Pakistan is not going to do any good to Pakistan, rather well known political and strategic analysts see it as road to disaster.
Concern about the projects ramifications for Pakistan have been gaining momentum with each passing day. Some say that it is a step towards enslavement of Pakistan in due course of time. Others view it as a flashpoint of friction. The people of Balochistan, Gilgit and Baltistan are not in its favour. Though they do not oppose it openly, resentment has begun to simmer in these provinces. Besides, India too perceives it against sovereignty and integrity of the country. It is also viewed as threat to fragile environment of these regions.
For Pak military and politicians, it is a game changer. Whether it will be so only time will tell.
