CPMG dedicates modern Post Office at Domana

Chief Postmaster General, John Samuel, while dedicating Modern Post Office to public at Domana.
JAMMU, Oct 16: Continuing with its transformation plan in Jammu and Kashmir, a modern Post Office was today dedicated to the public by John Samuel, Chief Postmaster General, at Domana amidst the presence of large gathering.
He announced that Gold Coin will also be available for sale at Domana Post Office in next few days. The Post Office which has also been designated at Post Shop will also sell stationery items, packaging material, gift items etc.
John Samuel, Chief Postmaster General speaking on the occasion said that J&K Postal Circle will be ambitiously looking for computerization and modernization of Post Offices functioning in rural areas to provide facilities at par with the Post Offices functioning in towns.
He said that Jammu and Kashmir Postal Circle is committed for “Transformation” of Postal Network in Jammu and Kashmir to provide best services to the people adding that orientation programs, soft skill trainings are being imparted to the staff for improving their efficiency and making them customer friendly. The Post Office has been taking many steps to provide new services across the State.
Mr Samuel said that the Department has been in the forefront to provide many new services to the customers. The Post Offices are being modernized and made into Post shops, thus enabling the customers to come closer to the Post Office.
He informed that 7 out of 30 Post Offices identified in Jammu and Kashmir for modernization have been dedicated to the public while remaining 23 will be mordernized by the end of this financial year. He further asked the employees there to get in touch with local populace for identification of land to construct new Post Office at Domana.
