JAMMU, Jan 10: Joginder Bhandari, chairman Chinar Power Projects Workers Union (CPPWU) district Kishtwar has demanded Hill Development Council for Chenab Valley.
In a statement issued here, Mr Bhandari has demanded formation of Council analogous to Ladakh Hill Development Council.
He said that Chenab Valley that forms one-third area of Jammu Province needs a separate Council to make an end to the sufferings and miseries of the inhabitants.
He has urged upon the Governor of J&K State for declaring Chenab Valley a separate division to pave way for equitable and rationalized development of this remotest and backward area, besides equal distribution of funds to the Valley.
Bhandari further said that the Chenab Valley having a large potential of power generation capacity have been ignored in all developmental fronts by the Kashmir centric leadership in the State.
