KISHTWAR, May 30: A deputation of Chinar Power Projects Workers Union District Kishtwar, led by its Chairman Joginder Bhandari, today called the Dy. Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh and discussed various demands related to the starting of Pakal Dul Project and resumption of work on Rattle H.E project.
Joginder Bhandari informed the Minister that M/s GVK Power Development which had been assigned the execution of Rattle Project on BOOT basis suspended the work upon the project and consequently 493 workers were retrenched by its sub Contractor M/s L&T in July 2014
Bhandari also said Pakal Dul hydroelectric project has been allotted to M/s Patel Engineering Company but the work is not being started the reason best known to the state government.
The minister assured the deputation that work upon these hydroelectric projects would be started shortly and first priority of employment should be given to the local unemployed youths of the district.
