KISHTWAR, Mar  1:  Chinar Power  Projects Workers Union (CPPWU) has demanded early resumption of work on Rattle Hydro-electric Power Project at Drabshalla.
In a meeting of the Union held today under the chairmanship of Joginder Bhandari, the members expressed concern over the delay being caused in the resumption of work on this power project in district Kishtwar. The speakers pointed out that semi-skilled and unskilled youths of  district Kishtwar could be absorbed there if the work is commenced on this project.
The Union leader said that the work on the Rattle project was suspended by M/s  GVK Power Development in the month of July 2014 and consequently 493 workers were retrenched by the executing agency  M/s L&T and have become jobless.
Bhandari urged upon the management of GVK to re-engage the retrenched workers in the said project as they had already served in the project for more than eight months.
