Create facilities for treatment of COVID patients at Jagti Hospital: AP

JAMMU, Sept 25: Expressing concern over the increasing COVID cases, various political leaders and social activists have demanded conversion of Jagti Hospital as COVID Hospital with provision of adequate infrastructure like testing facilities, oxygen cylinders and ventilators as well as posting of adequate doctors and para medical staff.
The demand was made by JK Apni Party (JKAP)leader, Sanjay Dhar and Dr Ramesh Bhat J&K Member of Indian Society of Blood Transfusion and Immuno Hematology J&K and a social activist. They expressed their grave concern over alarming situation created due to COVID at Jagti township.
They demanded creation of isolation centres in Jagti and other camps like Purkhoo, Muthi, Nagrota where these patients can be treated with creating an adequate provision of oxygen cylinders and other infrastructure. Dr Ramesh took up the issue with BJP general secretary, Ashok Kaul also and urged him to bring the same in the notice of LG. Both Dhar and Bhat demanded proper sanitization of all migrant camps as well as Jagti township.
They also demanded that Narayan Hospital Katra be immediately opened for public. Besides, all private hospitals, nursing homes in and outside Jammu city be opened immediately for COVID patients, where first aid, oxygen, medication can be provided to needy, and territory hospitals like Sarwal, Kotbalwal, Badibhramna be kept exclusively for non COVID patients. The administration should act fast in this regard.
They said as Jagti has a population load of 20000 big tents be arranged in and around the open space of Jagti township for isolation as GMC Jammu Chest Disease hospitals are full, so Government should crate facilities for treatment in other hospitals also.
