Create separate Tourism Development Authority for Thathri: TDF

DODA, July 26: Thathri Development Front (TDF) has demanded the Governor to create separate Tourism Development Authority for Sub-Division Thathri.
In a meeting of TDF, the members alleged that the successive State Governments neglected Sub-Division Thathri on all fronts. They said that Sub-Division Thathri (erstwhile Thathri tehsil) have now 5 tehsils, but even then it has been totally ignored as regards to the tourism sector.
“The natural beautiful tourist spots like “Jantron Dhar, Mata Rashwar Temple and Lamote Dhar are in Sub-Division Thathri, which starts from Panshee and ends at Goilla, surrounded by villages Joura Kalan, Joura Khurd, Shamdlian, Budhi, Halaran, Sichal, Ranote, Goilla, Chirra, Dadi-Kathava, Panshee, Rokali and many villages of Chiralla tehsil, that can easily be developed as tourist attraction spots like Gulmarg, these have been been totally ignored by the successive Governments,” they added.
The TDF members demanded blacktopping from Bhatola to Joura Khurd road, Punaja to Chiralla-Sunarthava road; Punaja to Bhallara road and Thathri to Jangalwar-Chirra road. They also stressed upon to connect Chirrala-Panshee road with Joura Khurd so that the tourists can enjoy these natural beautiful tourist spots of Sub-Division Thathri.
They also demanded district status and separate Assembly constituency for Sub-Divisional Thathri, stating that all the existing districts and Assembly constituencies in the State have hardly 2 or 3 tehsils but Sub-Division Thathri comprises of 5 tehsils.
Prominent members of TDF who attended the meeting were Ram Rattan Manhas, K K Rao, Advocate Kanwar Jeet Singh Thakur, Om Raj Bhall, Layaquat Ali, Bhari Lal Bhagat, Yog Raj Sharma and Mohd Safi.
